The Great Receiver - Pre-Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius

When we aim to abolish colonial structures, what happens to language? When language itself becomes retractive, deductive and transactional, used as a tool to manipulate, to control and exploit the human race and all our planets resources, how do we open to a new language that liberates us from these fragmentations?

We can really narrow all of the worlds problems down to one, in design thinking we call them “wicked problems”, and their cause is the dis-connection and fragmentation of energy, education and information. Instead of a balanced growth amongst the whole of systems, there is imbalance and separation in distribution.

To meet the moment of our times, the big Pluto Return of our country, we are learning to unlearn and decolonize the ways in which we have been taught to perceive, process and value information and life, as well as play a more expansive role in aiding in strengthening of the connection of the collective.

In a society that has been entirely mechanized, colonized and industrialized by modernity, we must lean in to re-connecting and remembering the roots that came before. We sometimes forget that these modern technologies are new and in a way, they are not natural. A technology that is far more advanced and far more embodied is the intelligence of nature and all living systems. To balance, we must learn to create room for new language by getting out of our heads and “should’s” and into our bodies. By slipping into our feeling, receiving and present energetic principles, feminine modalities and work to model living systems we exist amongst. We can do this by getting in touch and in collaboration with the Moon.

The Moons energy is deeply tied to the womb, not in any gendered way, but in the living organism that you are hosting in your belly that makes up the communication center and source of your gut brain. Humans are 90% micro-biome. This systemic brain does not get processed in the mind, but in the body. In a deep care and intuitive listening, a remembering that our DNA and senses have lived lifetimes beyond the ones we currently exist in. As we learn to open to this relationship and listen to it's messages, we realize this gut brain is deeply connected to the micro-biome of our planet and solar-system. It is life emerging, nature, spirit. We can tap into this and learn to co-create in collaboration with the Moon and it’s cycles as well as our bodies.

“For any living system or micro-biome to survive, it must mutate and evolve to achieve what is called a “balanced growth equilibrium”. A pace in which everything is connected, and growing in equally distributed way and the amount of output, is balanced at all times to the input and vise versa. Everyone has the same access to resources, information and life. No one it giving more than receiving, no-one is receiving more than they give. The system therefore becomes sustainable and life-giving. There is an equation to abundance. There are certain adaptations that are beneficial to the survival of life, and behaviors that can result in an infection like spread of decay, and then death, and then renewal. It’s nothing new to see that humans are at a dire point where many activist and scientists are warning of what is called the sixth extinction. Life will go on without us, but humans can become conscious of these messages by opening to our environments and working to be in harmony with it. To the micro-biome. Just like bacteria, the only way to truly evolve and mutate to ensure survival, we have to be in a balanced feedback loop to our environment, to the natural world.

We think that taking time in stillness, with breath, in passivity is not productive, but I want to emphasize that there is active choice in moving to an “opening” space. When we change our perceptions around value, we find that this part of being has been largely unvalued in Western societies. We can look to our indigenous siblings to lead the way. Part of this work is working with the original care-takers of the land, and working in collaboration to regenerate and shift our ways of life to be in balance the way their people always have been before colonizers forced them to assimilate.

Our negligence in activating this space becomes what system theorist and physicist Frijof Copra describes a crisis of perception. When white supremacy and imperial colonialism model the behaviors of an invasive species, as a collective species, we must work to overcome the decay. When the nature and perspectives of humans are cut off or deluded from our connection with all of life, we are being mis-led into the decay and to never realize our potential as humans. This has largely been manufactured by capitalism, as all of us have come into this life with a dependency on a rotten system instead of an empowerment to tune into the abundant system nature has to offer us. With the Sun as the life force, we must become the great receiver with the Moon and open to the living systems around us.

When we are living in the receiver space, almost nothing is an accident. Life organizes itself poetically to speak to you in symbols. Follow the trail of omens. A passing phrase in a seemingly unconnected conversation, an animal or object left near your spaces of enter, a synchronistic connection or appearance, an actualization of guides in nature or deep intuitive knowing. Letting go of the colonial mind that we are “separate” is letting go of the attachment of binaries, and at times, language itself. Recognizing that we have been conditioned in the colonial imagination and perception of white supremacy because we are always constantly living in it. We must forget all that we have been taught and told.

As Vandana Shiva puts it, we must learn to adapt and divest from colonial capitalism and move towards a more caring, decentralized relationship with our local communities and the land. In a way that is regenerative to those whose land that we inhabit. Part of receiving the Sun's energy and the energy and textures of the other planets, is opening to the natural world, the dream world, the unseen world. Somewhere in the center there is a fertile intellectual outer-space that blossoms something new and revolutionary.

As we approach the very first Lunar eclipse of this Lunar eclipse cycle, we meet these energies culminating in the sign of Sagittarius. On May 26th of May, we officially enter a new eclipse season and approach the ending of some big chapters. Lunar eclipses will see a culmination, a climax, graduation or completion of 5 degrees of Sagittarius. We can look to where this energy is in each of our natal charts. Anywhere from 0-10 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo) will be deeply impacted.

For the USA, this falls within 5 degrees of the Ascendant degree of our country. This is the face of our country. The language, beliefs, perceptions and ideas. May it bring any remaining illusions come crashing to the ground! More on this to come…

As we approach the Lunar Eclipse look to your chart to find out more on how this can effect yourself personally. You can start by considering the wider themes of Sagittarius in your life. Your world view, your education, your knowledge and understanding of life. This was the area of life that the ancients believed to be god. What we believe or have faith in, our exploration of truth. This is the teacher and the wayfinder, celebrate how far you have come on your way!
