The Great Conjunction - Jupiter and Saturn

The Great Conjunction is coming and there is nothing insignificant about it. Every 20 years the meeting of Jupiter and Saturn shows us the turn of power. This is the beginning of a new 200 year cycle, shifting from Earth signs, to Air Signs. We are making this shift into the Air Signs for the first time in 800 years. Every time in history these two planets meet in the sky, we see great changes on earth. This conjunction represents the old systems dying and new growth beginning.

This transit is not only unique for these reasons, but the climax of this conjunction is falling this year on the winter solstice, December 21st, 2020. A point in time the Earth is inherently at a cross stage, a bridge, a transition, from one season to the next. This is a rarity that we have not seen for thousands of years. On top of this, As Saturn moves from the critical and last degree at 29 degrees of Capricorn into the 0 degree of Aquarius, Jupiter will just two days later, make its shift from 29 Capricorn to 0 Aquarius. An ending, to a new beginning. The 29th and 0 degree of any sign marks a major emphasis of moving from one way of life, into a new expression. We are working with nothing but the pure potential of a sign and in this case, it is Aquarius.

There has never been an exact start date prediction for the building and moving into the Age of Aquarius, but if there were one, this aspect makes a strong case.  We will be moving away from the material world, from our version of capitalism, the results of the industrial revolution, the systems, and structures of our realities, and moving in to a focus on integration, restoration, innovation and ideas. Aquarius rules the collective hive mind and our future as a whole. It is known as the water-bearer. It uses the mind, to heal the spirit. Using water, frequency, unique and eccentric approaches to create real innovation in our lives. Aquarius absolves the status quo and brings out the rebellion, the humanitarian, the genius. Astrology also rules science, technology and astrology. We will begin to see this shift in every aspect of life. It will unfold over the next few years as we will one day look back at this time a pivotal moment in history. This is a world changing aspect. 

This is also the energy needed to introduce our imaginative visions for a new future, applied with the hard work and ability to actualize these new structures into existence. It will be no easy task, but it will lead us to a new way that allows the old structures to become obsolete. In order to prepare for this aspect, and make the greatest use of it (so it does not pull the rug out from under us), we have to make the space for it. Where do our beliefs not match the structures in our lives? Jupiter rules our hopes, our visions, and our expansion, while Saturn is our karma, our responsibility and the challenge to DO something about it. We will be asked to let go of the things that are no longer right for us, and no longer best for the collective. This aspect will feel challenging, but also inspirational, for we all will likely enliven aspects of our selves that we have never had the room or space to express and honor.

Aquarius can rule the outcast, the loner, the “freak flag”. Where we are headed, everyone is welcome and accepted. Start with clarifying what this is in your personal life that stands in the way of you honoring you. There will also be a square from Uranus early on which will be absolutely life-changing. The only thing to fear, is resisting these changes. The old ways will cling and attempt to hold many of us back. We must trust the energy of Jupiter and Saturn to lean in to what they are asking of us to develop and revolutionize in our lives. Any old attachments, must be let go.

A fun fact about this aspect is that every time is has taken place during an election or inauguration year, the sitting president has either died or sickness, natural causes or an assassination, or survives an attempted assassination attempt. In the very least, this conjunction has gone back to the beginning of time as a major shift in power, and leadership. It is symbolized by the fall of royalty and the rise of new collective power of the people. The may very well be, the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
