Blue Full Moon in Taurus - Breakdown to breakthrough
Astrology is fascinating for endless reasons, but one of my favorite things about it, is that the energy of the universe travels across so many different disciplines of thought. We can see the spiritual at work in the physical, as well as in the biological.
I love taking a systems approach to Astrology, because it acknowledges that we are not the only one interpreting and experiencing the universe. That we each can have an interpretation that is whole and complete to us, - but is only one part of the greater and complete whole. It incorporates all the subtleties and complexities and realities, of being quirky animals. Of being human, and a part of something so much bigger. It’s quite perplexing how the mind works, and exciting to consider all the potential we still have in our evolution.
The overall Astrology of this next decade is the beginning of a brand new era. A blossoming of our potential together in a way that we have never seen as humans. A blossoming that will feel uncomfortable, new, and if we can lean into it, liberating. It will take levels of vulnerability and love that have never been taught to us. It will take accountability and boundaries that have never been afforded to us. It will take the courage to name our needs, and to honor them together, as a whole. It will take us making it a priority to listen and lead from the heart, just as much as we live from the mind. For the next few years, we are undergoing a deep process of transformation, chaos, and humanity.
Our planet will undergo changes we have grown complacent, ignorant and naive to. The natural changes of our home, its health, and it’s systemic evolution. We are at a point in history where we are battling several viruses. The viruses of all wicked problems, caused by both white supremacy as well as human supremacy. When we allow ourselves to continue to exist in a system with a pace that de-fragments us, disconnects us and divides us, we lose touch of our divinity. Of course this systems pace is a manifestation of variables, choices and designs we have practiced for aeons, which is why, shaking ourselves loose of it and building a new system will be all the more challenging. We must do the work to stay course, strip away the illusions, and allow those who have been most marginalized lead the way. None of us will be free until we are all free. And we will not survive as a species if we do not adapt to a life that is more symbiotic with the planet and with one another. As we move ahead, we will continue to experience those who want to resist this change, and it is our duty to remain in our integrity and allow the natural death and transition from our old world, into a new one that is better for all of us.
Sperm and egg
As Mercury continues to move retrograde through Scorpio and into the sign of Libra, we will continue to be challenged to both detach from the mind, as well as use it in a new way. In a way that organizes energy differently, informed by the deeper truths of the heart, in a way that is balanced. The heart listens and it speaks. Through electro magnetic waves, sending and receiving information to the entire body and nervous system.
As we approach the first quarter moon, following our last Libra New Moon on October 16th, the seeds we planted then reach their first challenge. This is the moments where the seed, after having been planted and going through the process of rooting, the foundations become tested, as the plant organizes its energy to rise. Pushing, pushing, pushing through the soil and the dirt, committed to its goal and purpose to actualize above the surface.
As we approach the Blue, Full Moon in Taurus on Halloween, we are approaching both a death, and a re-birth. The energy of both easter, and of halloween! Venus, ruling the sign of Libra as well as Taurus, is fertility, balance and the material realm. The egg, representing the seed, the primordial purity of energy emerging. At this same time, we are approaching a major ending and turning point. The day of the dead and the opening of a portal.
As humans, many of us can be frightened of the concept of death. Our demonization of death however, can prevent us honoring the natural life, death, life - process that guide the energetic laws that life abides by. Death as energetic principle is necessary. Death as symbolism and metaphor is frighting. We can honor death as an energetic principle when we allow ourselves to use it to regenerate. By allowing a natural, cellular and psychic death to happen, in order for something new to grow in its place.
Sante Muerte
At our last New Moon in Libra, we have planted the seed to balance the scales. To birth with the spirit of transformation, to allow ourselves to become resilient in the face of death, and to honoring the necessary falling away in order for the new to emerge. Venus, as the ruling planet teaches us through the microbial brain, the gut. As we learn to detach from our minds and lead with our hearts, we will also have to learn to integrate the arising language of our instinct. To trust, to know, to seek. Our gut lies next to our solar plexus and is our life-giving energy. In 2017 we discovered a new organ in the gut, proving that it very much acts like a second brain, sending and receiving sensory data to your entire body.
Many of the challenges over the next few months will be in our ability to allow the mind’s attachment to our emotions, fear, or impulse get in the way of listening & rising. The Full Moon is Taurus is directly conjunct Uranus. An outer planet that with all the other big planetary transits of this year, at times can get forgotten about. On this Full Moon, Uranus will makes its presence known. Uranus is creative, disruptive, innovative and chaotic. Uranus is change. While we are reaching a climax, a culmination of our rising flower above the surface, and there’s a chance that it could be struck by lightening, so to speak. The environment it emerges in will be chaotic. Major truths may be revealed now, massive surprises or spontaneous eruptions may be unearthed on our planet. This could be volcanos being activated, tectonic shifts taking place with huge impacts. Or we could see this more under the surface in the emotional, psychic and spiritual spheres, huge shifts in understanding, intellect and consciousness. With Uranus, really, anything can happen. We can count on it being wild. We will have to learn to allow and to innovate and to be flexible in our foundations to move with the tide. The better we become at dis-engaging from the noise, the more we can focus on harnessing Uranus’s energy for rebellion, renovation and building a new system. Uranus can be sometimes associated as the planet of revolution. When we allow these destructive forces teach us, we have the opportunity to disrupt our egos, our mechanisms, everything that we’ve been conditioned by that is not us. We have a chance to become ourselves for the very first time, and to really see what we are made of as a collective.
More to come,
