Refining the new feminine

The skies are always brewing up our evolution. I love this weeks aspects and am feeling especially activated by the current meeting of Mercury and Uranus in the sky as Mercury transits through Taurus passing slower moving Uranus by. The planet of intellect and the planet of change meet for some brand new insights and downloads. Here in Taurus and given Uranus’ slow emergence into the sign earlier this year, we’re staring to make sense of this new territory. Taurus rules the growth of energy, the value we put on it in different forms,, how we exchange, trade, sell or receive energy and the knowledge and awareness of energies magic in becoming resourceful, sustainable and abundant. Taurus is traditionally ruled by Venus. This is an archetype our ancestors have deemed “the feminine”. How we attract, create, grow, nurture and love. When we place gender or value on duality with Venus, we diminish ones ability to create. While gender can help create a system, when it blocks ones ability to create, it create dependency on a faulty system rather than interdependency, what is needed to create, integrate and sustain all living things. Learning to re-frame how we are thinking about the feminine can be uncomfortable as is anything when it is new, however a key principle in what the feminine needs is to think more holistically and less reductionist. Less black and white, and more colorful. This principle is getting comfortable with the uncomfortable.

All genders have testosterone and all genders have estrogen. Both, the ability to assert and integrate. The external however, reflects back to us a system that celebrates our existence more so if we concoct and dress up the feminine in a way for market value. This is linear, quantitative and competitive. The masculine principles have not been honoring or respecting what the feminine has to contribute. Uranus in all of this is like a lighting strike both into the minds of humans and every living thing on this planet. We should hopefully be becoming more aware of our impact on this earth and it’s impact on us. Mercury bringing light is going to allow for a greater shift to emerge in the directions we are going and give us some new ideas on how to get there.

Secondly, we have Venus leading this shift in none other then then Aries, the seeding, initiatory energy of the zodiac. As the first sign, this is the flash of inspiration, the confidence to move forward and conviction to turn a new leaf. Venus is making a trine to Jupiter, who is currently in retrograde through Sagittarius. As Sagittarius represents the whole, the world, all of our religions, beliefs, faiths and how we view the world, in retrograde it highlights a stage of review. A sextile is a harmonious aspect to Venus saying that whatever is beginning now has the strength of expansion behind it. Jupiter grows everything it touches, and right now it will do so in a very mindful way. These two together creates some wonderful soil for sustainability.

While this can feel exciting, we also have a square to Venus from Saturn, the South Node and Pluto. This can echo the themes of reframing the feminine, but this is energy that will be applied more so as a refinement, using our masculine with Mars to apply force, balance and resilience to these deep and transformational times. Venus will receive a sextile from Mars. The masculine and the feminine will speak in harmony. Both the integrative of Venus to reframe, brew and hold tight to see this new vision through and the assertive of Mars in Gemini, to refine this new expression. Gemini is the sign of the twins. We can reframe this story to see it as a double identity. Perhaps both the masculine and the feminine. In Native American tradition, those who identified as “two spirited” were celebrated. Embodying both energies and balancing them in harmony.

Personally these transits may show up to you in ways that you feel empowered, ready to move into new territory, but perhaps there is some last minute frustration, obstacle or delay before you feel the lightness of this shift. Saturn represents things like karma, hard work, time and responsibility. It can feel like to really reach our goal, we must put in the labor now to actualize this fresh new start. Know that these transits support you in whatever direction you head in but also with the Saturn, Pluto and South Node aspects, you must actively seek out what patterns, beliefs or habits need to be let go of in order for this to actualize. You will be resisted if you are spending time in an out dated environment or story. Use this time to listen and to correct your course, allowing yourself to integrate some new practices. We are entering unknown territory and keeping an attitude of both of flexibility and acceptance will bring about your humility and success.
