New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer - In Motion E-motions
A hyper charged new moon. The seeding. A brand new attempt at balance. An opportunity to re-wire how we work with the archetypes of Cancer and Capricorn in our collective psyche. A potent opposition from our moon, making this eclipse one of transformation. Death and rebirth.
Capricorn's archetype is what gives us boundaries, however they may show up in our individual lives and collective. In the man made system that humans have adapted to living within, the force of Capricorn has been crippling for some, exhausting every ounce of our essence leaving little room to cultivate our softer Cancerian sides.
There is a lot happening with this Solar Eclipse. My favorite aspect is a Grand Earth trine between Venus, Uranus and Saturn. With the intensity of our Pluto revolutions regarding the imbalance of the Cancer/Capricorn dichotomy in our lives we are given the gift of a supportive Grand Trine. This aspect aids in a shake up in a light breezy way. Room to make the changes with Saturn and Capricorn energy and working with the Uranus in Taurus (Venus) shift to shake up our values and roots. Jupiter has also just gone direct, during it's four month trip retrograde we have learned much about our 8th house and deep psyche. When it was initiated, the #metoo movement launched and we as a collective began to unpack the hidden and micro imbalances in our lives. Now that it has moved direct we have a fresh new understanding what we need to grow and advocate for going forward in our alchemical unfolding.
With the Cancer and Capricorn dichotomy and new eclipse axis, we have this New Moon in the sign of Cancer. Cancer brings softness, comfort of home and the foundations of our roots. With her most intuitive gifts she explored the watery realms of emotions, connecting with ancestors DNA. She asks us to step away from the third dimension and into one of an intangible reality. Cancer rules the 4th house of home and foundations, although this eclipse is not aspecting any of the major angles, these signs rule the houses that host two of our major angeles in our consciousness. The IC and the MC. The (IC) Imum Coeli is said to refer to our roots and the least conscious part of ourselves. It stands for the foundations, early life and what was experienced through parental inheritance and homeland influences. This is where we experience our need for security and relationships with the home and family life as well as feel the need to create this wherever we may go. With an eclipse here as well as Pluto calling for transformation we can be feeling things related to our own upbringings and habits as well as things we've always wanted for our lives but perhaps were not something that was nourished during these developmental and foundational stages.
On the other token, the opposing end in Capricorn will be factored in as it is opposing Pluto. Capricorn ruled another important angle in the astrological chart called the (MC) The Medium Coeli and is the opposite of the IC. The MC symbolizes the outer self, the ego. This is how the world sees us and all the boundaries that we build for ourselves that contain us. While the IC is our inner self-perception, the MC is our outer self-projection. We are constantly evaluating this with our MC, Capricorn archetype to process if it is in agreement with our IC and inner roots. We typically project our MC in ways that we believe will bring more safety, comfort and security to our IC.
With the state of our countries MC, of capitalism, inequality, toxic masculinity and many others, it is quite clear that it is not in balance with the feminine nature. What is more discouraging is as this governs the status quo, it's left many of us feeling exhausted and straight up confused on how to exercise our power or agency because I believe what many of us feel at our Cancer IC is in conflict with our external MC. This system is made to shame us in many ways, from our appearances, our genders, sexuality and more. Our skill sets and how we map out our days, close to every choice we make can have potential to make us feel less then when it is reflected back to us by the MC of our system.
I was drawn to the use of a metaphor about emotions in motion. As Cancer as our emotional internal being and Capricorn as our rational, responsible builder of structure, they can be blended in the weeks coming to see the value in their cooperation. When we think of running or working out, it is uncomfortable, painful and a challenge. If it is something we are new to we go through sores and aches, it can feel like our body is breaking down. We are met with many doubts of our ability to continue and sometimes denial of our need to take care of our bodies in this way opting for an easier route. Well, emotions can be seen in the same light. We don't usually see emotions as hard work or a discipline but this is merely a product of the system that we live in. They require discipline and commitment. Boundaries around our time to process and work with them, persistence to work past blocks and hurdles and endurance to know as we cultivate a regime we will become stronger and more able to glide through future work outs. We have crafted emotions to seem like a waste of time, a weak part of ourselves but this is only a perception that was forced on us. Emotions are what we as indigenous people used to communicate with our ancestors, cultivate a relationship with our planet to navigate her changes and live harmoniously with one another, emotions are where wisdom and power are found. It is a part of the life, death life cycle and to grow into empowered beings we must learn to honor this cycle. We have to give ourselves the permission to sit with these energies and value them enough to create a practice.
I truly believe many of these eclipses and transits are leading us to the empowerment we need as a collective to re-write out story. Both individually and collectively. Where there is hurt, trauma and injustice we must face and sit with and believe we the people can be empowered to set a different pace.
Happy Eclipse fam, I will see you out there.
