Why Wayfinder?

Astrology, witchcraft, divination etc…they are taboo subjects. Feminism, healing, relationship dynamics, feelings, mental health, planning for our planet and our species future, and many more can be as well. I don't believe that this is merely a coincidence but a direct consequence of our current systems relationship to power, balance and the archetypes we value most as a society.

What is one thing that these all have in common? That they represent or are a practice in holistic thinking, viewing all parts of the whole, and where they may potentially be subjected to imbalance. There is an honoring of life outside of one’s self. This is what can be sometimes seen as or labeled as a “feminine” modality of processing or operating.

When talking about femininity, we can at times hyper-focus on gender in the struggle for equality. Although important, I would like to bypass the notion of gender binaries completely, and draw the focus to feminism as a way in which we exercise our minds and our agency; or in this case, the ways in which we've inhibited this mode of thinking and operating. (Fritjof Capra “The Web of Life)

Feminine thinking and feminine operating principles are inherent traits that we all possess and are not only surrounded with, but were created by since the big bang. This part of ourselves, has been de-valued since the Industrial and Scientific Revolutions and the over-investment of the mechanistic, linear and reductionist mind.

When we made the transition to the colonized agricultural system and mass production, this was the solidification of our systems imbalance with all living systems. Colonizers created the current order and system of trade, and we haven't looked back. Colonizers have had the final say in how we are in relationships with the Earth. Colonizers have committed acts of mass genocide to the people who have tended and lived in harmony with our natural world in order to extract more and more and more. White supremacy has prevailed like an invasive species. Any attempt to think outside or re-imagine this system, has largely been rejected in an attempt to control our planets resources and keep this colonized system and its rulers intact. 

This system devalues feminine thinking, in all people.  Considering the whole, whether that is our bodies as a whole in mind, body, spirit, or our species as a whole in race, gender, class, ability, — or our planet, our home and neighboring plant and animal species as a whole. This imbalance continues to repress us in all facets of life, our potential as humans as well as our chance at a sustainable future with our world.

In biology, bacteria has survived and evolved through the changes of our planet by adapting a balance of both masculine and feminine thinking and operating principles. We know from quantum entanglement that there is both an enforcer of the viewer as well as the enforced, the manifestation of the viewers consciousness. It is this feedback loop that in infinite. When living conditions are threatened by environmental or evolutionary changes, bacteria has had to use feminine thinking and operating to develop and adapt to new modes of behavior based on what was best for the survival of the whole. This behavior includes at times on a micro level, photosynthesis and fermentation. The drawing from new sources and sharing this information with one other to create a new balanced micro-organism, a new culture. 

What keeps us from integrating with other living systems, living in harmony and truly evolving symbiotically with our Earth, is the under-valuing of the thinking that prioritizes feminine values and of course, the over valuing of masculine thinking.

On an individual level, one can ask, what gives me security? The masculine system we live in highly values quantity, over quality. Competition over integration. Hierarchy over wholeness. If we attempt to think or act with our feminine side, one can say that we are often met with resistance, exhaustion, and a sense of "not enough time." Emotions are marginalized and seen as a “cost” that one is not willing to spend to made a container for. To think of quality, cooperation, compassion, and integration with the whole, for ourselves and for others, in a system where your survival essentially does not allow it, this way of thinking can feel like a distraction. We are not rewarded for this type of thinking in our current system. That is, until our system naturally crumbles due to not evolving with the changes in the natural environment.

The world is changing slowly, more and more we realize that we can not sustain in the colonized system of imbalance and that we must commit to dismantling patriarchal white supremacy. We will not endure in a system that values masculine operating principles at the expense of more feminine ones. However, I do believe that in learning to using the feminine operating principles, these tools and methods can help others and myself continue to de-condition from a system who I believe hurts us all and empower us to integrate more of the feminine principles in our daily systems.

Astrology, tarot, plant and animal medicine, traditional healing methods, mythology, storytelling and the like can be ways to enliven parts of our beings, parts of our psyches to re-imagine our potential together. Albert Einstein said that the true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination. Using feminine operating principles with a pragmatic approach can get us more comfortable in these places and open us up to the creative agency that is each of our own right, in order to lead a life of balance, alignment and purpose alongside the greater whole.

Approach

My approach to sessions are with you in the way-finder role and me showing you the reigns. We will ground through some questions on what emotions are coming up for you and where you’d like clarity. Most sessions are a conversation and me showing you exactly where things are coming up in the chart and the direction they are evolving in. We can weave back and forth to inner and outer energies, how you can tap more into your natal gifts, as well as how to work with energies and conditions in your environment to have an impact. My goal is not to heal you myself, but to be your tour guide and mentor in leading you to your own healing, and validating the myriad of possibilities that may be actualizing for you in the chart.

Foundation

I use a blend of the Whole Sign and Placidus house systems, with an emphasis on the asteroids, archetypes and mythos of ancient teachings. I like to use the charts to paint a broader stroke of an individuals life, the environment, its tone, decoration and weather. To highlight the different modalities in a persons life that may be most beneficial for the Native’s becoming.

My interdisciplinary education allows me to use the knowledge of both modern and traditional approaches to Astrology. My primary concern as your consultant is making sure you are comfortable and unharmed at all times. If at any point you are uncomfortable or feel you need to employ a boundary I will be 100% responsive and agreeable. I will never frighten you with extreme predictions or give you false hopes about the future. I approach all my readings with sensitivity and give generous respect and encouragement to your individual autonomy. All information given during our sessions will remain confidential unless silence would be grievously harmful to a client. 

Relationship Charts and Readings 

I offer relationship readings with consent from both parties involved. Synastry and Composite readings are a wonderful way to learn more about your partner as well as the purpose of the relationship. We find the compatibility and inter-working dynamics with Synastry and the relationship as a third entity and it’s actualization in the Composite.

Predictive Charts and Forecasting

When I use the word "prediction" or "predictive" I am referring to the use of methods like Astrology, Systems theory and intuition in order to intuit future environments. What these things are providing me with are information of landscapes and themes that will show up in an individuals life. What this does not tell us is, how you will choose to act with this energy. Much like a weather forecaster, one can tell if you of the chances of rain, but only you will decide to stay inside or if you will go outside to play. We can learn a lot about your natural propensities through your Natal Birth Chart and things you may be called to cultivate by your Progressed, Solar Arc and Solar Return charts, however you will always have free will to exercise your power of choice. WAYFINDER avoids all notions that dis-empower an individual on their path and aims to provide you with information to empower your individual agency, choices and intentions.
